Principles

Principle - A rule or standard especially of good behaviour
"a man of principle"; "he will not violate his principles"

I like this definition a great deal. The words are both clear and concise. I learned about principles early on in my life. My father was a steel worker and my mother a home-maker. They taught me principles of:

• Love of God
• Working for a greater good
• Hard work
• Self Discipline
• Proper treatment of others
• Fair play
• The Golden Rule
• Faith
• Hope
• Love
• Forgiveness
• Spiritual /Religious Faith

Overall, the goal or lesson my parents taught me was about being the best person I could be. It may sound a bit corny, but this is not an easy task. Ask anyone that knows me. I am equipped with various faults. My wife of 15 years, Paula, can attest to that. So can my children. Cameron is my 10 year old son. Brooke is my 8 year old daughter. They certainly test me and I do my absolute best to deliver the best possible result. In my recent public life, I was faced with a tough decision. I thought long and hard about the issue, prayed about the issue, discussed the issue with close family and friends, and did what I believed was the right thing to do. I will continue to use this rigorous thought process over the next four years with regards to any and all township or district decisions that will impact our lives. I thank you again for the opportunity to continue service to District #3 - Rural Ridge. I am proud to be a "Rural Ridger" and look forward to hearing from you soon.
