– Dynamite Detonated in Emerling Park - Early yesterday morning, a resident discovered old dynamite at their new residence. The new homeowners recently moved in, found the dynamite and assumed it was left by the previous owners. Dynamite turns to nitro glycerin when it is old. The owner immediately called the bomb squad and they were able to successfully detonate the dynamite. They did so in the back of Emerling Park. We understand they underestimated the blast; it was more than anticipated. The repercussion from the blast broke window in the Emmerling house.

- Water Break – Rich Hill Road – Road Conditions – Severe. See Krally’s note to Harmar Manager requesting quick corrective action:
Annette:
Good morning. This weekend’s water break on Rich Hill Road has left your portion in shambles. Both shoulders of the roads were heavily impacted. They are crumbling as we speak. In some areas of the road, large holes are forming; large enough for a tire to sink into and cause an accident. I will send you pictures later this week. Can you please have your Road Crew inspect the road today and get back to me with their findings?
Lastly, can you please update me on your Board’s progress regarding their plans for to fix the road? School begins on Wednesday and I am sure busses will have extreme difficulty traveling on your road.
Thank you,
Darrin

– Rich Hill Road Update – I talked with Harmar Township Secretary/Treasurer, Annette Dietz, this morning. My objective was to request that yellow lines painted be repainted on their portion of the road. This happened a few months ago, but the paint/lines faded are no longer visible. Annette said that their Board is fully aware of this problem and that both she and their Board are disappointed in the contractor they selected. We agreed that the quality of the line painting was poor at best. Annette shared that this contractor is now be out of business! The good news – Annette indicated their Board is discussing the possibility of either “paving and/or shoot chipping” their portion of Rich Hill road over the next month or two. She also said they have other roads that need work as well....
